Who is the Writing Group suitable for?
This group is aimed at beginners and those with some writing experience. Our aim is to help you develop your writing by providing a range of varied and enjoyable workshop activities. You ll be given extracts of published work to increase your critical awareness of good writing and develop your knowledge of the conventions of fiction writing. Writing For Pleasure will be suitable for you if you wish to work with other writers and extend your skills so that you can gain greater enjoyment from your writing.

When does the Writing Group meet?

We meet every first Thursday of the month in Cheadle Library on Ashfield Road. Sessions run from 6.30 to 7.30 p.m. Refreshments are served from 6pm giving you the opportunity to chat to other writers and share your work in a relaxed atmosphere.

Are there any special requirements?
Just bring along pen and paper and an interest in words and the craft of writing. The Writing Group is for recreation and enjoyment with the emphasis on writing for pleasure.

Do I need to reserve a place?
